The other day I was sitting on the toilet watching the water drip out of my tap. As a result of this profound experience I decided to see how much water is wasted in a 24 hour period. I plugged the tub, told everyone that we were no longer showering and off it went. After 24 hours I measured the volume of water and it came out to 48 litres. That is 12 4L milk jugs in just a days time.
It just gave me a picture of how much water we really waste just on little things. So obviously I went out and fixed it right. Well, no, but I’ll get around to it soon. Just something to think about.

My God. I needed that! hehehe
Makes you think, huh? my parents have to let the bathroom sink tap drip steadily all winter long in order that their pipes do not freeze and burst. If your calculations are correct, than in one winter, 8736 L of water are wasted via our bathroom sink. That’s 96096 L since my parents moved into this house. And there are probably hundreds of thousands of canadians forced to do the same thing.
God we’re disgusting. And so are our winters. Somebody should really do something about those….
