Everyday that I bike to seminary I ride by a big train yard. I decided to ride through it the other day and was checking out the graffiti on the trains. It always amazes me to see this form of art from all over North America right here in Saskatoon. The oldest piece (the name for a well done “piece” of graffiti) was almost 10 years old. It had travelled around for a while. I have always loved watching the trains go by because if you look closely it is like a travelling art gallery. Here’s a few pics that I took. Enjoy

…Not sure whether the train companies think of it as art! They are, however, definitely bold and colourful. I often think words in graffiti look like they’re all the same “font,” but there’s definitely variety here.
On another note, I’ve found that by biking I discover a lot more details than I do driving by the same things over and over again.

Your right Stanley, biking is a great way to see the world up close. I biked to a morning breakfast thing the other day. I had been to the restaurant and the surrounding area 10 times before but as I biked there I began to notice the metal roof on a grain elevator and the colour of several buildings. It is amazing what happens when we move by things at a slower pace. I guess we just have more time to take it all in.
